We Are From 2065

Synopsis:

“Noon News (2065): Minister for National Development, Tan Xiao Jun, has announced his decision to tear down the 156-year-old Lau Pa Sat in 30 days’ time. The parcel of land in Shenton Way will be redeveloped as a space exploration base to further enhance Singapore’s position in this industry.”

Upon hearing this shocking news, 10-year-old Teo Zhen Zhen becomes worried for the fate of Lau Pa Sat. Just as Zhen Zhen is worrying about the fate of Lau Pa Sat, Professor Time tells them that he has unearthed a time machine, which can enable them to travel back in time and stay in the past for a period of 30 days. A crazy idea hits Zhen Zhen. Ignoring Professor Time’s concerns about safety, Zhen Zhen activates the time machine and travels 50 years back in time to 2015 with Xi Xi and Professor Time. She hopes to find the then-10-year-old Tan Xiao Jun to change his views on tradition and cultural artifacts in 30 days, so as to save Lau Pa Sat from being destroyed! 

At the end of each episode, Xiao Jun will record a Videolog as a reflection on his experiences. Slowly but surely, Xiao Jun will develop a deeper understanding of these traditional trades and cultures, gradually changing his perspective of them.
